2023年11月からジャズをゼロから真面目に聴き始め、2025年11月15日に200枚に達しましたのでご報告致します。
モダンジャズの名盤を追いつつ、現代ジャズも追いつつ、深いインプレッションを受けたミュージシャンについては他の音源も追いつつ、みたいな聴き方をしています。最初の100枚よりは「自分のジャズの趣味」というものが確立されてきた感もあります。
私のジャズの趣味ですね。一言で言えば、「楽器同士の分離が良く、それでいてインタープレイのしっかりしたジャズ」が好きっぽいです。ピアニストだと、これまではなんとなくBill Evans、Keith Jarrettあたりを好んで聴いていたんですが、色々と掘ってみる中では、Tommy Flanaganと波長がバチッと合った気がします。
200枚まで達するに当たって嬉しかったのは、そういう趣味が分かってきたことと、これまで感じられなかったCherles Mingusの『Pithecanthropus Erectus』 a.k.a. 『直立猿人』の面白さを感得できたことだと思います。それまで分からなかった音楽が分かると嬉しい。
200枚聴くと趣味がわかりました。300枚～400枚くらいで、ジャンルの見取り図がぼんやり見えてくるんじゃないのかな。
